GlobalHealth@UNSW invite you to meet the new Chief Editor of BMJ Global Health, Dr Seye Abimbola and hear about the journal's vision for global health publishing. 

 

BMJ Global Health is an Open Access, online journal from BMJ dedicated to publishing high-quality peer-reviewed content relevant to those involved in global health, including policy makers, funders, researchers, clinicians and frontline healthcare workers.

 

Editor-in-chief, Dr Seye Abimbola, is a health policy and systems researcher. He qualified as a medical doctor in 2007, having trained at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He has since worked as a doctor in a rural community (2007-08), a junior academic at a medical school (2008-09) and a research fellow at the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (2010 till now) all in Nigeria. From 2009-10, he was a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar at the University of Sydney during which he completed an MPhil in Public Health based at the George Institute for Global Health. In 2016, he completed a PhD in Public Health (on institutional economics analysis of primary health care governance in Nigeria) at the University of Sydney, funded by the Rotary Foundation and the Sydney Medical School Foundation. He is currently a lecturer in international public health at the University of Sydney and the editor in chief of BMJ Global Health.
