Children's Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA) is honoured to have Professor Joachim Schüz speak at a special CCIA seminar.
 
Professor Schüz is head of the Section of Environment and Radiation at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Lyon, France. 
 
Before IARC Prof Schüz worked at the Institute of Cancer Epidemiology, Danish Cancer Society, Copenhagen, Denmark; the Institute of Medical Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics, University of Mainz, Germany; and at the Tumour Center of Rhineland-Palatinate, Mainz, Germany.
 
Prof Schüz is an epidemiologist with a background in biostatistics and medical informatics and has worked on several topics in the field of bioelectromagnetics, in particular studies on power lines and the risk of childhood cancer and on mobile phones and the risk of brain tumours. He is currently President of the Bioelectromagnetics Society and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Society's journal.
