Lowy Cancer Research Centre Seminar - Prof Nick Hayward - Dissecting The Genetic Landscape Of Melanoma
The Lowy Cancer Research Centre is honoured to have Prof Nick Hayward speak as part of the Centre's 2013 Seminar Series. His seminar is entitled
Prof Hayward is the Head, of the Oncogenomics Laboratory at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research The Oncogenomics Laboratory identifies novel cancer genes and studies the way in which defects in these genes are associated with cancer predisposition or development. In particular the lab focuses focus on melanoma, oesophageal cancer, and endocrine tumours. The current research includes the study of melanoma susceptibility genes, molecular genetics of MEN 1 (multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1), identifying environmental and genetic risk factors for oesophageal cancer and Barrett's oesophagus and Cellular and molecular changes that occur in the progression of normal oesophageal epithelium, through Barrett's oesophagus, to oesophageal cancer.
We thank Beckman Coulter for their generous support of this seminar.
