Professor Philip Barter is this month's guest speaker with a seminar entitled "High density lipoproteins as a target to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease: What is the evidence?" Professor Barter has held various positions in research institutes and universities in Australia and overseas. including 10 years as Director of The Heart Research Institute in Sydney. Now based at UNSW, he is the current President of the International Atherosclerosis Society.
