The Prince of Wales Postgraduate Research Seminar will be held on Friday 20 October 2017 from 9 am to 5 pm.
This all day event will be held in the John Dwyer Lecture Hall in the North Wing of the Edmund Blacket Building, Prince of Wales Hospital.
Students in PhD and Masters programs within the School will either give oral presentations or supply posters on the research activities undertaken in their programs. Prizes for best oral presentation and poster will be given.
These seminars are available to all POW staff and students, and wider community and are free of charge.
This year's guest speaker will be Professor Charlie Teo (Founder of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation; Director of The Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery; and Conjoint Professor, UNSW). Professor Teo is a passionate and global neurosurgeon. People from all continents seek his surgical skills, especially when they have been given no hope of recovery. Along with running a surgical practice and finding time for extensive charity work, Professor Teo is an award-winning teacher who shares his techniques in neurosurgery with students in Australia and the USA. He has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia, and has been named the Most Trusted Person in Australia for the last five consecutive years.
This is a catered event, so if you would like to attend, please register.
